wow this actually did happen to me about a year ago, turns out his daughter ped away and he realized i was the only person he could speak to. I always mind what i wear but did i give it an extra thought? no. It seems to me that you may still have some small feeling for the ex yet it may also be you want to look great for that person as a sort of "haha, look at what your missing" type of thing.
