I have less oppurtunities than other equestrian people....?

I'll say what I said before. A LOT of famous riders came from families with little money. If you get your friends together and fix up the barn (Sweep, paint, wash things, organize, etc.) you'll make it 100x harder for ANYONE to tease you. Although, I'd say quit riding in shorts and bathing suits unless you're swimming with your horse. Ride in jeans if you want to stay casual, but breeches are more comfortable, and more lightweight in summer breeches and heavier in winter breeches.
