What's bad about being in a sorority?

I was asking my parents abouts sororities and they said it's bad and it's not something I want to/SHOULD be in. And they didn't explain much about it. And I wanted a second opinion. I always hear the good part about sororities, but what's bad part. (Besides alcohol and hazing.)
