Can anyone in the navy tell me if AS was a MOS to choose ( for a female)?

I just joined the navy DEP but I don't leave until December. I chose AS for my job but i'm seriously secon guessing my decision. I know i deals with automotive inspecting and repairs but that is something I don't know anything about. I sure I can learn it but I probably should have read more into it before I chose it. I initially wanted YN or IT but they didn't have a shipout date until this time next year and I wanted to leave as soon as possible. Can I switch my job befor I leave?
