What are some songs I should learn on drums and tips on playing drums when joining a band?

Nirvana's In Bloom is pretty simple. Same with Polly/Lithium and a few others from Nirvana, Foo Fighters has a few easy drum songs I think as well. as the other bands go, I don't have any idea.
